Britannia Malawi is focussed on mining exploration and prospecting activities in south east Africa. Our mission is to aggressively explore, discover and define high-grade bulk tonnage coal and iron ore resources on the company’s existing tenements at Nthale and Mphwamphwa, and to acquire, explore and define resources over new project areas within the highly prospective coal region near Karonga.
The company’s flagship project Nthale Iron Ore is located in the south of the country near Blantyre and covers a vast area over 650 square km . Transport links in this area are excellent; road and rail connect Nthale to a number of ports in neighbouring Mozambique where capesize vessels are able to load cargo for export across the Indian Ocean. Mindale is situated just 3km from the nearest rail spur that connects into CEAR's established rail route to Nacala deepwater port.
