* Livingstone was the first European to reach the shores of Lake Malawi on September 17, 1859. Malawi’s commercial capital Blantyre is named after his birth place in Scotland.

* The Cultural and Museum Centre is home to the 130 Million year old fossil the Malawisaurus, so called due to its exclusivity to country.
* Today Malawi is still discovering important evidence that provides insights into human origins and the history of life on earth.
